Job descriptionKey Responsibilities : Clinical Duties : Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed. Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, administering injections, and performing EKGs. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies. Document patient histories, medication information, and other pertinent data in electronic health records (EHR). Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and medication instructions. Administrative Duties : Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar, ensuring optimal patient flow. Handle patient check-in and check-out processes, processing payments and insurance information as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in the clinic's EHR system. Communicate with pharmacies and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and prescriptions. Perform general office duties, including answering phone calls, responding to patient inquiries, and managing correspondence. Collaboration and Support : Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to provide comprehensive care to patients. Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to stay current on best practices and regulations in primary care and pain management. Assist in managing inventory and ordering medical supplies as necessary. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote a positive and supportive work environment. Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is strongly preferred. Previous experience in a clinical setting, particularly in primary care or pain management, is a plus. Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and clinical protocols.
