HIM REPRESENTATIVE I
Under the general direction of the Regional Manager of Health Information Management, the Health Information Management (HIM) Rep serves as a primary resource for the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to prepping, scanning, and indexing scanned documents and monitoring the system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately validates computer generated discharge / admission list against the actual medical record and preps Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency Room (ER) medical records for scanning
- Accurately performs Quality Control on scanned medical records to ascertain all paper documents are scanned, and belong to respective patients
- Performs analysis on physician documentation requiring dictations, signatures and co-signatures. Deficiencies are entered into the EMR system and reports are generated for follow-up with the physicians
- Diligently reviews pending transcribed reports in the EMR system, makes necessary corrections and exports reports into the EMR system as a permanent part of the patient chart
- Courteously assists physicians with EMR difficulties in chart completion and other issues, if needed
- Accurately reanalyzes records after physicians have completed deficient reports
- Accurately sort loose ambulance reports of various patients in chronological order and scan into the EMR system
- Provide support to the release of information function as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned

One (1) year of medical records and / or medical office experience preferredEDUCATION
