Bench Sander
Days
Pay $17 per hour
A bench sander is a stationary tool used for smoothing, shaping, and finishing various materials such as wood, metal, or plastic.
- Material Preparation : Ensure workpieces are clean and ready for sanding, including cutting or shaping materials to the required size.
- Sanding Operations : Operate the bench sander to smooth surfaces, remove rough edges, or shape materials to the desired dimensions.
- Tool Setup and Adjustment : Adjust the bench sander's speed, sanding belt, or disc according to the material being worked on and the desired finish.
- Quality Control : Inspect materials before, during, and after sanding to ensure smooth, even surfaces and adherence to quality standards.
- Maintenance : Clean and maintain the bench sander, replacing worn sanding belts or discs and ensuring all moving parts function properly.
- Safety Compliance : Follow safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear, ensuring proper ventilation, and maintaining a clean workspace.
- Record Keeping : Document work completed, materials used, and any maintenance or adjustments made to the equipment.
This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and knowledge of different sanding techniques and materials.
Must have a high school diploma or GED and pass an FAA regulated drug test and background check.
