Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
Employees must possess effective communication skills to exchange information, give and receive instructions, and respond to inquiries. The position requires the ability to perform routine mathematical computations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. Employees must be able to read and interpret routine written or printed materials such as basic blueprints, charts, diagrams, maps, and instructional materials.
The position requires standing and / or walking up to eight (8) hours per workday. Employees must frequently to continuously bend, stoop, squat, crouch, crawl, kneel, climb (up to 12 feet), reach above shoulder level, and push or pull. The job requires frequent to continuous lifting and carrying of up to 75 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds to fulfill orders, complete transfer requests, and stock equipment, furniture, supplies, and parts.
Employees must use both hands and feet for repetitive movements involving firm grasping and fine manipulation. Manual dexterity and visual acuity are required to oversee warehouse operations, read and understand orders, and locate merchandise. Hearing and speaking abilities are necessary to communicate with vendors, suppliers, employees, and customers, including by telephone.
The position requires travel between schools while transporting heavy or bulky items. Employees must be able to work at heights, around machinery, outdoors in varying temperatures, operate motorized equipment, and tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. Adherence to safety precautions when handling materials is required.
