• Securities Special Agent Trainee Division :        Enforcement Union :             N / A Location :        421 E Capitol Ave, Springfield, IL – Sangamon County Salary :           Range :   $4,168 - $6,243 monthly Benefits :         https : / / cms.illinois.gov / benefits / stateemployee.html Overview : Participates in extensive training programs to become proficient in conducting investigation of possible violations of the anti-fraud provisions of the Illinois Securities Law.  Serves as support to special agents by performing limited investigative activities relating to alleged violations of the Illinois Securities Act.  Receives various training in officer skills using simulated exercises and field training.  Duties and Responsibilities :   Supports enforcement activities of special agents by conducting limited investigative activities of possible violations of the anti-fraud provisions of the Illinois Securities Law including a variety of fraudulent activities such as, misrepresentation of ownership of investments, interviewing of victims, witness and investigative subjects, etc.
• Attends various securities related training programs, such as, conducting investigations of possible violation of the anti-fraud provisions of the Illinois Securities Laws, conducting investigations of possible violations of securities, dealer, salesperson and investment advisor registration requires of the law, conducting investigations to determine the registration status of dealers, salespersons and investment advisors, etc.
• Attends various law enforcement training programs, such as, the use of law enforcement weapons, pursuit driving, two-way radio communications, officer skills through simulated exercises and field training (e.g. self-defense, weapons retention, disarming and physical restraint of violators and environmental conditions.  Receives instruction concerning the moral and ethical considerations in the professional use of procedures as a statutory peace officer, etc.
• Attends training in how to effectively convey interpretations to the public of applicable state and federal Security laws; receives instruction in basic public relations to effectively represent the department and the division.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
