Job Summary :

The Safety and Environmental Coordinator is responsible for creating, with Management assistance, a culture of safety within the plant. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting in development and implementation of safety and environmental policies and procedures onsite as well as working with the division safety team to develop and maintain a consistent safety driven culture. This position will lead efforts in data collection and analytics for both safety and environmental purposes. The role will work in partnership with leaders to implement best practices and monitor compliance with environmental and safety requirements . The Safety and Environmental Coordinator shall monitor and advise the facility staff on safety and environmental compliance issues. Such issues include but not limited to following : safety regulation compliance, hazardous materials management, hazardous waste management, storm-water management, waste water management; spill prevention planning (SPPC), sampling, air emissions regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities :

Safety

• Create and implement safety plans and procedures
• Verify site compliance of all safety plans and procedures.
• Conduct New Hire Orientation and training on all essential safety policies
• Educate employees on safety standards and expectations.
• Conduct monthly employee safety training.
• Lead and Organize Central Safety Committee and support hourly employees.
• Maintain proper safety equipment and personal protective equipment for employees.
• Manage the Hazard Communication process and Safety Data Sheets.
• Attend safety walks and inspections before / during each project to analyze safety risks.
• Perform daily facility safety walks.
• Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
• Investigate onsite incidents / accidents and perform root cause analysis for each.
• Update and Maintain site documentation of safety procedures, incidents and related events.
