What You Will Do

  • JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the design, development, and oversight of the Electrical Technician training path, including the Apprenticeship Program. This role will create and maintain structured learning plans, develop and update technical training materials, manage on-the-job and classroom-based instruction, and ensure alignment with business and safety standards. In addition to program development, the Electrical Training Process Lead will manage testing and evaluation systems to monitor trainee progress, competency, and certification. This role also collaborates closely with Maintenance, Engineering, HR, and external partners to deliver specialized training and to maintain compliance with industry standards and apprenticeship requirements.

  • WHAT YOU WILL DO (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary by the Company)
  • Oversee all Electrical Technician training programs within the factory, including the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of both technical andapprenticeship-relatedtraining activities. Ensure that all training programs are closely aligned with operational needs, safety requirements, and industry standards.

    Responsible for reviewing, updating, and maintaining all electrical training documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness. Systematically evaluate existing materials to reflect current procedures, technologies, and equipment, as well as incorporating feedback from trainees, trainers, and subject matter experts.

    Develop new training materials-including Step-up Cards (SUCs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), One Point Lessons (OPLs), and Work Instructions (WIs)-to support the introduction of new electrical equipment and systems. Collaborate closely with subject matter experts and Maintenance personnel to ensure technical accuracy and to incorporate real-world insights that enhance training effectiveness.

    Conduct all testing activities related to the Electrical Technician training and Apprenticeship programs. Design and administer assessments to evaluate trainee knowledge, practical skills, and overall program effectiveness.

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records within the Skill Matrix, ensuring all entries reflect the current status and progress of Electrical Technicians and apprentices.

    Responsible for identifying and developing new trainers within the Electrical Technician job classification. Assess current training needs, evaluating the skills and qualifications of potential trainers, and selecting individuals who demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the ability to effectively communicate and coach others. Support these trainers with the tools, guidance, and feedback necessary to ensure consistent, high-quality training delivery across all shifts and skill levels.

    Conduct comprehensive skill-gap analyses for Electrical Technicians and apprentices to identify areas where employees may lack the necessary technical skills or knowledge. Evaluate current performance levels, comparing them against required competencies, and identifying specific skill gaps. Develop and implement targeted training plans to address these gaps, ensuring employees are equipped with the skills needed to perform their roles effectively and safely.

    Partner with various Department MBU Teams to conduct loss analysis and support the development and execution of the master training plan. Implementing systems and tools to address key performance losses within the Electrical Technician and Apprenticeship programs, ensuring that training initiatives directly contribute to reducing operational losses and improving overall workforce efficiency.

    Qualifications

  • REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Education and Experience :

    Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related discipline

    5+ years Manufacturing or Technical Training experience

    3+ years supervisory experience

    Must be 21 years of age or older

    Knowledge of :

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
  • Skilledin :

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Education and Experience :

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related discipline

    3+ years related work experience

    3+ years of supervisory experience

    Electrical Certification

    Certified Professional in Training Management

    Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent

    Work Environment and Physical Demand

    Occasionally lifts or moves moderate to heavy weight objects (10-50 lbs.)

    Reach and grasp objects / hand eye coordination

    Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl

    Walks, sits, or stand for extended periods of time

    Prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment

    Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

    Identify and distinguish color and shades of color

    Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury

    Risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
