Role Summary and Itemized Responsibilities
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for product movements in the warehouse, supporting the execution of Food Safety and Quality Team mandates, picking and putting away orders, waste disposal, housekeeping, and organizing supplies and materials (pallets, cleaning equipment, etc). The Warehouse Associate is responsible for communicating any issues involving product placement accuracy, inventory accuracy, safe handling and storage of food, equipment, and supplies to the appropriate Managers. Duties include, but are not limited to :
Performs product movements, put-aways and pick orders as assignedCompletes training for warehouse power equipment and operate forklifts (stand-up and sit-down models), manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, riding pallet jacks, trash compactor, and bailerResponds to and executes assigned duties related to findings during Food Safety and Quality Team inspectionsAssists Inventory Team with counts, investigations, and restocks of returns as neededRemoves waste and / or expired product from building in a timely mannerGeneral warehouse housekeeping such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning racking, cleaning and maintaining minor equipment, and other related housekeeping tasksCommunicates any issues related to safety, storage of product and equipment, process deviation or anything impacting operations negatively in an effective and timely mannerLeads by example and enforces safety as well as food safety policiesAdheres to Roadrunner Food Bank’s Safety policies and mandate from Food Safety and Quality TeamProvides excellent internal / external customer serviceTreats all stakeholders with respect and sets the same expectation with team membersAssists other warehouse teams as neededSupports Job Training Program by acting as a guide and mentor for Job Training ParticipantsMinimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
Forklift Certification or capability to complete a company certified forklift training program within 30 days of hire date.Previous experience using Microsoft Suite of applications (specifically Teams / Outlook)Comfortable using technology including barcode scanners, data input and working with a product database.Food Safety Training will be provided.Literacy skills required.Excellent Communication Skills.Independent decision-making skills.Commitment to the mission of Roadrunner Food Bank.Preferred Skills
Prior experience in a warehouse environment using warehouse power equipment.High School, GED or equivalent preferred but not required.Prior food handling experience and safety training (e.g. FIFO).Customer service experience a plus.Work Environment / Physical Expectations
