Job Description
The Electromechanical Validation Engineer will support product verification, validation, and compliance testing for electrical and mechanical medical device components and systems. This role spans all stages of product development-from prototypes to final system design-and involves developing, executing, and validating test methods while maintaining detailed documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including R&D, Project Management, Quality, and Manufacturing is key to success.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute verification test methods, protocols, and reports under supervision.
Design test cases covering methodology, setup, materials, equipment, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
Perform functional testing of mechanical assemblies, electrical circuits, and complete systems.
Support hardware development through feasibility, pre-compliance, and change-related testing.
Design and maintain test fixtures, hardware, and software tools for data collection and analysis.
Interpret electrical and mechanical designs to ensure complete test coverage of requirements.
Evaluate compliance standards, assess risk, and develop test procedures to meet regulatory expectations.
Conduct hands-on testing in lab environments and at third-party test facilities, documenting and communicating any defects or failures.
Perform data analysis and record results in testing platforms such as ALM.
Collaborate with system teams to refine requirements and enhance test effectiveness.
Contribute to continuous improvement of existing test cases and testing processes.
Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and supplies inventory.
Perform troubleshooting, rework, and calibration of electromechanical systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
Minimum 1 year of experience in electromechanical system / component-level V&V testing.
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles; ability to interpret schematics and mechanical drawings.
Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, force / pressure gauges, calipers, thermometers, flow meters, and scales.
Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Strong documentation and reporting skills with attention to detail.
Effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shared responsibilities.
