Overview

The Accounting Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. They manage a team to ensure work is properly allocated and completed on time. The Accounting Manager works to tight deadlines and is responsible for various accounting activities, including general ledger entries, client billing and collection, cash management, lender management, month-end financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, client financial reporting, and supports budget and forecast activities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage financial reporting and accounting activities for clients, including month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and auditing.
  • Assist with self-insured reserves and provide pricing information for proposals.
  • Develop and implement new procedures and internal controls to enhance department workflow.
  • Manage banking relationships, cash management, and receivables billing and collections.
  • Hire and train staff, establish goals and objectives, and provide ongoing feedback and professional development.

Qualifications

Education

  • BA / BS in Accounting or Finance or Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting required.
  • Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required. General ledger experience preferred.
  • Licenses / Certifications

  • CPA preferred and Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
