Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will work within the Engineering Department to create and evaluate existing manufacturing processes for vertical and horizontal lathes, and multi-axis milling machines.
Responsibilities
- Develop cost effective manufacturing process to support 4-5 axis machining centers
- Design cost effective and quick changeover manufacturing fixtures and tooling
- Create shop floor documentation including operation sheets and work instructions
- Implement cost reduction initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Initiate corrective actions to floor processes
- Cost estimating and quoting
- Participation in lean and continuous improvement events
Qualifications
Experience with Aerospace materialsProficient with Unigraphics NX4-5, CAM and 3D modelingMust be accustomed to deadlines and accountabilityExperience with complex aerospace parts including milling and turning processesLean manufacturing techniquesEffective time management skills including multi-taskingAbility to read blueprints.
