Job Title : Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT)

Location : San Diego, California

Salary : $2,298.50 per week

Shift : Thursday to Monday, 6 : 00 AM - 2 : 30 PM

Schedule : Full-time, 6-month contract with potential for extension

Weekend Requirements : Yes, weekends included in schedule

Job Overview :

The Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) provides professional nursing and psychiatric care to patients in a correctional healthcare environment. This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care while adhering to established clinical protocols and maintaining patient safety. The LPT collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality of care and continuity for patients with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
• Notify physicians of changes in patient condition, incidents, or the need for medication review or treatment adjustments
• Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members and assist staff in delivering quality patient care
• Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
• Complete documentation such as incident reports, medication error reports, and drug reaction reports promptly and accurately
• Maintain compliance with clinical, safety, and ethical standards within the correctional environment
