Power BI Developer

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer to join our client in the international development / financial services industry. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of business intelligence solutions using Power BI, working closely with business stakeholders and data teams to drive data-driven decision-making.

You will have the opportunity to work with both on-prem Oracle data sources and cloud sources such as Databricks, and will be responsible for the full BI lifecycle- from data modeling and report development to optimizing and maintaining high-performance dashboards. Additionally, you will mentor junior BI developers and analysts, and help establish BI best practices and data governance policies across the organization .

Key Responsibilities :

Design, Develop, and Optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and paginated reports for intuitive, high-performance analytics.

• Work with business stakeholders and data teams to define KPIs, dimensions, fact tables, and data flows.
• Develop and maintain semantic layers and star schemas to ensure consistency and efficiency in data modeling.
• Collaborate on data extraction, transformation, and optimization using SQL (complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions).
• Work with on-prem Oracle data sources and cloud platforms like Databricks to ensure data is processed and available for reporting.
• Define and enforce best practices for data governance, including security measures such as Row-Level Security, data masking, and access control.
• Provide mentorship and architectural guidance to BI developers and analysts, ensuring BI solutions meet performance and security standards.
• Drive the adoption of BI best practices across the organization, helping teams establish standardized approaches to data modeling, reporting, and security.
