Hand Packagers Needed At South Hills Stones Processing Facility
Temporary and full-time hand packagers needed at South Hills Stones Processing Facility in Oakley, ID. Eight openings from October 1st 2025-February 1st 2026. This job is full-time and temporary. Applicant must be of strong physical character, and display strength and dexterity in both arms and hands, exhibit trunk strength using abdominal and lower back muscles continually over time, as well as be able to spend the majority of the workday standing without giving out. Repeated heavy lifting is required. Position requires the ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions with exactness and integrity. No experience or prior training / education required. Employees will work in teams of 2-4 people. Teams are trained and supervised by production manager. Employees will work indoors. Each team will receive stone delivered in bulk by truck or loader and placed in their working area. Each team will work to package the stone delivered to them by :
Completed packages, pallets, or crates are removed and inspected by quality control supervisor. Employees are required to follow established safety program including use of safety glasses, steel toed boots, protective gloves, and hearing protection. All PPE provided by employer. Minimum hourly wage of $15.24-$25.00, normal working hours are Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm. 40 hours per week, overtime may be offered, at the rate of $22.86-$37.50 per hour, but not required. Hours and production are tracked weekly and wages are computed using a single workweek as the standard. Workers are paid based on production with minimum straight time rate of $15.24, and minimum overtime rate of $22.86. When the value of a workers production exceeds the minimum hourly rates, the hourly rates are increased for that week to compensate for the additional production value. Workers will be paid every two weeks. All deductions from the workers paycheck required by law will be made. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Job duration is anticipated to be October 1st 2025-February 1st 2026. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each twelve-week period of the total employment period. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees not paid directly by the employer including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). Transportation (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer.
