About MODUS21 : MODUS21 is a Charleston-based business and technology consulting firm specializing in government and defense solutions. Join our team supporting NIWC Atlantic's Cloud Engineering, Transition, and Modernization Support Services (CETM). Mission : Support the E2IS Integrated Product Team by delivering user-centered design solutions for complex DoD systems, ensuring products are desirable, useful, and usable for military and government users. Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive user research, interviews, and ethnographic studies within DoD environments
- Develop detailed user personas, journey maps, and behavioral frameworks
- Design and execute usability testing protocols and validation studies
- Create service design architectures and optimize information hierarchies
- Deliver wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI / UX designs ensuring accessibility compliance
- Establish design systems and component libraries for product consistency
- Partner with Product Managers on feature prioritization and outcome-oriented roadmaps
- Collaborate with engineering teams on agile development practices and CI / CD processes
- Manage design documentation in JIRA and Confluence
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams on POA&M resolution Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative field (Engineering, CS, IT, IS, or related)
- 3+ years of professional software engineering or design experience
- Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification
- Security+ certification
- Experience in DoD and Agile environments (Lean, Scrum, XP frameworks)
- Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and ALM tools
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance Essential Skills :
