Join Our Team as a Physician – Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)Location : VA North Texas Health Care System – Dallas, TX
Are you a passionate Board Certified or Board Eligible Physiatrist with a focus on Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) ? If so, we invite you to become a vital part of our multidisciplinary team at the VA North Texas Health Care System. Here, you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive care to our esteemed Veterans in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Your Role :
As an SCI physician, you will :
- Deliver exceptional care to Veterans, ensuring their health and well-being.
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary care team to develop tailored treatment plans.
Core Responsibilities Include :
Conducting comprehensive history and physical exams with admitting privileges.Creating and managing individualized treatment plans.Diagnosing and treating multi-system conditions, including cardiovascular, dermatologic, and more.Performing procedures such as joint injections, wound care, and ventilator management.Managing special therapies like aquatic therapy and physical modalities.Responding to consults and prescribing treatments for referred inpatients.Utilizing the VA’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to maintain documentation standards.Participating in staff meetings, teaching, and administrative functions.Work Schedule :
Enjoy a balanced work-life with a schedule from Monday to Friday, with potential shifts of :
7 : 30 AM – 4 : 00 PM8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM8 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PMSome on-call responsibilities may be required.

U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be considered if no qualified U.S. citizens apply).M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.Current, full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.Completion of ACGME or AOA-accredited PM&R residency program.Board certification or eligibility in PM&R and / or SCI.Proficiency in English.Ability to pass VA physical, background screening, and drug test.Preferred Experience :
SCI Fellowship-trained.Experience with SCI patient population.Background in acute / subacute rehabilitation care.Leading or participating in interdisciplinary teams.Performing outpatient procedures.Ready to Make a Difference in the Lives of Veterans?
