Job Title : RN - MedSurg / Tele Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Medical Surgical / Telemetry Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night Shift Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) License : Current Registered Nurse license Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : EPIC experience General cardiac skillset, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, management of various tubes and drains, and medication administration for cardiac drips. Experience with TR bands and preferred experience with femoral sheaths. Description : This position requires an RN specializing in MedSurg / Telemetry. The unit provides care for cardiac post-procedural patients, including those after TAVR, STEMI, and other cardiac procedures. Typically, the daily patient census is around 19, with admissions of 8-10 patients per day. The unit is beginning a pilot program to add 4 more beds and PACU space overnight, extending to 23 beds. Patient ratios are 1 : 3-4 during the day and 1 : 4-5 at night. CNA support is available with 2 CNAs per shift, but none in the PACU space. This role involves working closely with a fast-paced, efficient, and teamwork-oriented unit culture. Travelers are expected to anticipate and assist peers in all tasks, regardless of scope. Flexible scheduling is available, and travelers will work 75% of holidays as scheduled. The technology utilized includes EPIC for EMR and Phillips monitors. No monitoring tech is available; nurses are responsible for reading monitors and responding accordingly.
