Job Overview

North Los Angeles County Regional Center "NLACRC" is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the individual budget, associated spending plan, and case management services to consumers registering and / or participating in Self-Determination Program services.
  • Assist participants with the transition in and out of the SDP.
  • Assist in the transfer of funds originally distributed to any budget category to another budget category or categories.
  • Document, complete forms and reports in accordance with regulations and NLACRC policies and procedures.
  • Work with Independent Facilitators and Financial Management Services providers.
  • Initiate and respond to consumer, family, service provider, and outside agency communications.
  • Schedule and attend interdisciplinary meetings with individuals served, family members, service providers, advocates, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or related human services field and two years of related experience.
  • Understanding of family systems and appreciation for person-centered planning and thinking.
  • Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, good organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
