Pay Range : $40 - $45 / hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities :
- Shift Options : 4x10s (7 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM) or 5x8s .
- Hours per Week : 40 .
- Review daily assignments and surgical preference cards.
- Prepare and check the operating table and all necessary instruments and supplies.
- Ensure all specialty equipment and physician-requested instruments are available and functioning.
- Demonstrate proper handling of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and special equipment.
- Assist during procedures with tasks such as suctioning, holding retractors, cutting sutures, and wound irrigation under surgeon supervision.
- Circulate for surgical procedures under RN supervision as needed.
- Assist with patient site care, including dressing application and drainage tube connection.
- Support safe patient transfers using proper body mechanics and assistance.
- Disassemble and properly handle instruments for cleaning and reprocessing.
- Ensure OR cleanliness and prepare equipment for terminal cleaning.
- Promote and protect patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Attend to physical and emotional patient needs, offering comfort and support.
- Assist any patient in need, regardless of assignment.
- Prioritize patient welfare and demonstrate integrity in clinical practice.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience :
Key Skills;Ortho, Spine , Operating Room .Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience, including Ortho and Spine procedures.Proficient in surgical instrumentation and sterile technique.Ability to function effectively in high-stress environments.Demonstrates cultural competence and effective communication with physicians, staff, and families.Maintains composure during emergencies and adapts to changes quickly.Demonstrated ongoing professional growth and clinical competence.Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Education ProgramORThree (3) years of relevant experience within the last five (5) years.BLS certification (American Heart Association).Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA .Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) – NCCT .Our client is a leading Healthcare Industry, and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
