Job description

Step into the Cell

Imagine arriving at a customer site where Symbotic’s robotic material handling system hums to life. As a Robotic Cell Operations Technician, you begin by bringing automated adapters online—verifying every adapter is in a ready-to-run state and preparing pallets for induction into the Symbotic storage and retrieval system. With Human / Machine Interface (HMI) terminals at your fingertips, you orchestrate inbound and outbound activity to drive maximum throughput and cases per hour.

When a stoppage occurs, you diagnose the cause using the HMI and safe manual intervention, then return the system to service quickly. Throughout the day you preserve uptime—recovering robots, removing suspect items, and performing bot health actions. You keep an open line to leadership, escalating anything that could impact production. Periodically, you complete system inspections—cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checks, component validation, current measurements, and electrical system checks—to keep performance on target.

Your toolkit also includes hands-on rover bot upkeep : replacing wheels, cleaning, and maintaining ESD brushes and sensors. You may be called to recover automated robotic vehicles within the Symbotic Matrix select system—even in restrictive spaces and at elevation. You maintain radio etiquette, follow procedures, and document root causes and corrective actions to sustain continuous operations. Other duties may be assigned by leadership.

About the Team

You’ll be part of Symbotic’s Customer Operations organization—leaders of day-to-day system operations—partnering with onsite customers to drive best-in-class quality, safety, and system performance.
