Job Description
At Regions, the Business Systems Analyst conducts business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost / benefit analysis to align IT solutions with business initiatives. This position may function as a liaison between the line of business and the IT department.
Primary Responsibilities
- Formulates / defines specifications for operating software programming applications or modifies / maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from programs
- Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devises computer programs, systems, and related procedures to process data
- Prepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submits recommendations for solution
- Prepares program specifications and diagrams and develops coding logic flowcharts
- Encodes, tests, debugs, and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with computer operations and user departments
- Reviews progress and evaluates results
- Reports inconsistencies to management and suggests problem resolutions and business process improvements
- Some business groups may require on-call support rotation after hours and / or weekends
Exemption This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related experienceOr Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experiencePreferences
Banking or financial services industry experienceExperience providing application support to include troubleshootingExperience with business intelligence toolsFamiliarity with agile and / or waterfall methodologiesSkills and Competencies
Ability to plan, schedule and execute multiple concurrent activitiesAbility to work in a team environmentStrong knowledge of systems and software development concepts, practices, and proceduresAbility to research, analyze data, and derive factsExcellent communication and customer service skillsExcellent organizational and analytical skillsKnowledge of applicable testing toolsProblem solving and priority management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Strongly Preferred

Please note this position may require long hours and weekends. Proximity to Hoover, AL is required. This is not a remote job.

Pay ranges are job-specific and provided as a point-of-market reference. Regions may adjust pay based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, location, and performance. The target information below reflects the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for the location and level.
