Position Summary

The Mental Health Clinician, under the supervision of the Specialty Director of Behavioral Health, plays a critical role in providing mental health services within the D.C. Department of Corrections. This includes culturally competent care, diagnostic evaluations, treatment of mental health and substance use disorders, and coordination of care within the correctional health setting.

The clinician will be responsible for delivering safe and effective behavioral health services that align with Unity’s integrated model of care and meet the unique challenges of a correctional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Health Outcomes :

• Conduct mental health assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and diagnostic screenings.
• Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the needs of the incarcerated population.
• Provide behavioral health interventions, preventive education, and referrals as needed.
• Maintain compliance with DOC and Unity Health Care policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage patient care and continuity.
