Journeyman Plumber
EMCOR Government Services is seeking a committed and personable licensed Journeyman Plumber in Washington, DC to complete our team. The journeyman plumber will be required to diagnose and remedy issues pertaining to water valve, new and old installs which may leak, become obstructed or damaged. You should always ensure that services are rendered in a professional, courteous manner to maximize customer retention. To ensure success as a journeyman plumber, you should exhibit impeccable troubleshooting and decision-making skills. Outstanding journeyman plumber will suggest services that may be of use to ensure assets are well maintained and operable. The successful candidate must be able to work 11pm - 7am on Saturday. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
- Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
- Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
- Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
- Plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls, test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
- Receive and complete work orders assigned
- Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
- Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
- Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
- Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
- Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
- Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures.
Qualifications :
Journeyman Plumber License requiredPreferred 6 years' experience in plumbingPreferred 2 years with journeyman plumbing and gas licenseExtensive knowledge with practical experience in commercial plumbing systems and equipmentPosition requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Q level security clearanceCandidate must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with customers, coordinators, and management.Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft office suites.Working knowledge with the use of CMMS system Maximo.Must be able to work 11pm - 7am on Saturday.Looking for Individuals who are :
