Overview
Colville School District 115 is seeking a Junior High School Assistant Track & Field Coach for the 2025-2026 school year at Colville Junior High School. This is a one-year extra-curricular position. Applicants should have a passion for coaching and mentoring young athletes, and the ability to foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all student-athletes.
- Teach and coach the 7th and 8th JHS Track & Field team members, while guiding self-esteem, values, and lifelong learning.
- Serve as a positive role model with high standards of morality, integrity, character, and sportsmanship.
- Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and patient attitude toward each athlete's growth.
- Run organized practices with a clear schedule and objectives for each session.
- Supervise locker rooms before, during, and after practices and games; ensure no student athletes enter without an adult supervisor.
- Coordinate transportation needs with the athletic director; arrange school bus pickup / drop-off at the school side.
- Maintain discipline on bus trips and athletic events; ensure transportation home for all participants.
- Take daily attendance and ensure medical first aid kit is on site for practices and meets.
- Supervise cleanliness of facilities and manage equipment and uniforms, maintaining inventory records and reporting to the athletic director as required.
- Coordinate with the athletic director to ensure games crew, field / court setup, and officials are in place for home contests.
- Assist with securing keys, filing accident reports within 24 hours, and representing the school and district in a positive manner.
- Support all district extra-curricular activities through actions and words of support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Two to four years related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.Ability to calculate figures and amounts as needed; problem-solving skills for practical, real-world scenarios.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Valid first aid / CPR card on file with the athletic director; yearly HIV / Hepatitis B seminar with documentation on file.Current documentation required for the coach's standards and education program; favorable background fingerprint checks.Work Environment & Physical Demands
The position involves outside weather conditions and possible exposure to risks of injury and infectious diseases carried by students.Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, sitting, and other movements as required for coaching and supervising activities.Employment Details
