Job Summary

Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, this position assists management with oversight of the daily operations of the department's satellite office at the Eastern Loudoun Service Center (Ridgetop) in Sterling, VA. This position provides a dedicated supervisory position to supervise staff assigned to the satellite office, working closely with the Management Team for seamless communication and team cohesiveness. This position will also serve as the supervisor on duty for staff working at the satellite office on a daily / weekly rotating basis, ensuring adequate staff coverage. Additionally, this supervisor completes case assignments, reviews, and closures. This position is a member of the extended management team and provides input as requested with strategic planning, standard operating procedures and budget preparation each year.

This position also supervises the Probation and / or Pretrial Officers assigned to the Eastern Loudoun (satellite office). The position collaborates with the Management team to ensure adequate coverage and smooth operations at the satellite office.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field; three (3) years criminal justice or counseling work experience including functional or operational administrative experience in a criminal justice, jail, or corrections setting; includes a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Criminal and DMV background checks required which are conducted through department VCIN terminal. Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). Hold or obtain a certification to operate a VCIN terminal within 90 days of hire which requires fingerprint check. First aid certification preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.
