Job Title : Technical Accounting Manager
Location (city, state) : Charlotte, NC
Pay : $130,000 – $140,000 / Annually
Job Description :
We are seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to support the corporate finance team in a highly visible individual contributor position. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in GAAP and transactional accounting who enjoys working on complex accounting projects, including acquisitions and financial statement preparation. Candidates should not be looking for people-management responsibilities, but rather an opportunity to focus on technical work and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities related to intercompany billing and shared services
- Prepare journal entries related to payroll, cash, credit cards, AP, fixed assets, and other general ledger functions
- Assist in month-end close, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation
- Ensure financial reporting is GAAP-compliant, including 805 acquisition accounting
- Build and analyze opening balance sheets during acquisition transitions
- Collaborate with local accounting teams to support integration into corporate systems
- Lead or assist with ERP implementation efforts as needed
- Participate in the continuous improvement of internal processes and controls
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field7+ years of progressive experience in corporate accountingStrong understanding of GAAP, full-cycle accounting, and financial reportingProven ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilitiesExcellent organizational and analytical skillsStrong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionallyPreferred Qualifications :
CPA certification (highly preferred)Background in public accountingConstruction or contractor industry experienceExperience with ERP transitions (especially Viewpoint Spectrum)Master’s degree in Accounting or MBAAdditional Details :
