Responsibilities Position is in a corrections unit within a hospital setting Care provided to inmates with oncology, medical-surgical, or other complex diagnoses Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3 for PCU and 1 : 4-5 for Med-Surg shifts Floating required between PCU and various oncology Med-Surg units as needed Locked unit with controlled access, coordinated by Corrections Officers Shifts may include days, nights, or a blend, depending on department needs Weekend coverage required per unit requirements Medication dispensing with Pyxis and charting with Epic (experience required) Role involves managing complex oncology and non-oncology cases in a secure corrections environment Occasional floating to other units may be required Support services include pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response, and interpretation services Must complete Ohio fingerprinting immediately after contract signing per facility compliance First-time travelers accepted Candidates must not be current employees of Ohio State University Hospital locations Former employees eligible after a six-month separation Locals accepted at the same rate Requirements Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration Current BLS certification required Minimum education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Epic EMR experience required Skills in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and medical-surgical nursing Experience with blood product administration, central and peripheral IV lines, PICC lines, and cardiac drips Competency in respiratory support methods, including CPAP / BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care At least two professional references required, with one from a supervisor or charge nurse Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630267.
