Job description

Our client is currently seeking a Personal Care Assistant - Emotional Support around the Aston, PA area.

Location : Aston, PA 19014

Work Hours 8 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM (subject to slight variation)

Position Title Personal Care Assistant - Emotional Support

Position Summary The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) will support special education services in accordance with district policies and procedures. Responsibilities include :

Assisting in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Providing direct support to students with special needs
Collaborating with special education teachers and staff
Supporting behavior intervention plans
Facilitating and scheduling IEP meetings
Monitoring and documenting student progress
Participating in problem-solving and support teams

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Acceptable documentation for Upper Darby includes :

Photo of high school diploma or official transcript with signature

Photo of post-secondary degree (Associate's, Bachelor's, etc.) or official transcript with signature

GEDs and ParaPro test results are not accepted

Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting

Familiarity with special education practices and willingness to learn

Proficiency in multimedia and educational technology

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, staff, and families

Position Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing IEPs

Support the use of technology and resources to enhance learning

Tailor support to individual student needs

Assist with student assessments and grading policies

Manage student behavior in various settings

Collaborate with colleagues, families, and community stakeholders

Participate in professional development and school learning communities

Communicate professionally in written and verbal formats

Perform additional duties as assigned
