Overview
Join the Workforce Productivity Services organization as a Cellular Operations & 5G Implementation Engineer to drive next-generation cellular solutions and power our global site expansion. The Workforce Productivity Services (WPS) team seeks an experienced Cellular Operations & 5G Implementation Engineer with a strong background in project delivery, strategic planning, and operational optimization. This role supports global cellular operations while delivering both public and private 5G solutions to enhance business productivity. This position emphasizes user experience and cutting-edge connectivity solutions, with opportunities to gain experience in private cellular deployment.
How Youll Succeed
- Lead implementation of both public & private 5G carrier solutions across Lilly sites
- Provide consultation for business partner 5G use cases driven by groups such as M&Q and LRL
- Define private 5G architecture needs in collaboration with Enterprise Connectivity (Network Services) and Cybersecurity
- Manage day-to-day interactions with cellular providers and contribute to ongoing supplier governance; provide critical expertise into service direction
- Collaborate with Managed Service Provider to monitor, maintain, and optimize cellular line operations
- Find and implement ways to streamline global processes by removing redundancy and automating outcomes where possible
- Leverage data trends & industry best practices to influence strategic direction of Lilly cellular offerings
What Youll Need
Technical understanding of the benefits of 5G technology, ideally with practical experienceComprehensive understanding of enterprise network fundamentals; experience integrating Private Wireless Networking (PWN) with traditional networks is a plusExperience in coordinating External Service Provider (ESP) engagementsDemonstrated expertise in managing and supporting global solution portfolios, with a record of delivering high-quality, user-centric solutions on scheduleStrong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills (verbal and written), including ability to articulate technical solutions to non-technical personnelUnderstanding of API scripting for automation use casesProven ability to assess customer / client needs, creatively approach solutions, and influence appropriate actionsExperience in resolving complex issues in product and operational support; supporting 24x7 critical operations like manufacturing is a plusYour Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical fieldOr High School Diploma / GED with 3+ years of experience as an IT professional3+ years of experience in large enterprise cellular managementQualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States; Lilly does not anticipate sponsorship for employment visasAdditional Information
