Lead Designer + Project Manager

We are a rapidly-growing residential and commercial interior design studio that is looking to add a Designer + Project Manager to our crew! We are a laid-back but very hard-working team that works extremely closely together and strives to provide the utmost client experience. The position involves working on and managing projects from start to finish under the direction of the Principal Designer. This includes day-to-day project management, creating architectural drawings, generating design direction, client management, material sourcing, and coordinating directly with vendors. The position reports to the Principal Designer and will be provided with support from a skilled, full-time Design Assistant. The position includes monthly car + phone stipends, commissions + bonuses based on performance, and has the ability to quickly evolve as we continue to grow.
Responsibilities :
- Create detailed design plans, inspiration boards, and FF&E budgets for client projects
- Generate architectural drawings including reflected ceiling floor plans and elevation drawings
- Spec and source materials + furnishings for design projects
- Be the day-to-day client-facing contact, as well as a touchpoint for third-party vendors
- Collect and verify pricing and availability for material items for projects
- Management and oversight of dedicated Design Assistant
- Travel locally to job sites, showrooms, and stores; travel nationally to industry markets (post-Covid)
- Business development for the firm as needed
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in related fields2+ years of professional interior design experienceExtreme Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Mac applications, G SuiteHigh knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specificationsHigh knowledge of design requirements, construction methods, and materials for multiple types of interior environments.High knowledge of vendors and to-the-trade business partnersStrength and experience consulting directly with clientsConfidence to communicate your ideas clearly and openlyQuick on your feet with high proficiency for learning new applicationsStrong spatial understanding and awareness for floor planning and remodelingSelf-starter and a quick learner with the ability to delegate as neededAmenable and understanding of client needsGreat ability to multitask and work independently as well as with othersAlways one step ahead of everyone elseHighly self-motivated and amped to grow professionally and personallyReliable car and willing to travel on occasionAbility to help haul items as neededMust be based in Austin, TX area and able to travel to our office in Westlake (based on current Covid in-office policies)Easy-going and drama-freeBonus :
