Job Summary
The Emergency Department (ER / ED) RN provides care in a Level 3 Trauma, STEMI, and Stroke Receiving unit. The team is highly organized with a focus on high reliability, patient safety, and customer service. RNs are expected to manage acute and critical patients, titrate drips, perform triage, and collaborate with providers to ensure zero harm.
Responsibilities
Perform triage, assessments, and interventions in ERAdminister medications and manage drips per protocolPerform 12-lead EKGs, support department operations, assist providersTransport acute patients to imaging or higher level of care when neededDraw blood during IV starts; phlebotomy available 24 / 7 on requestMonitor patients via tele; RNs read and interpret all stripsCollaborate with RT, pharmacy, and other support staff as neededMaintain adherence to unit protocols, safety, and patient care standardsRequired Certifications
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCCPreferred : ENPCExperience / Skills
Minimum 1 year ER experience requiredTrauma experience (MVAs, GSWs, stabbings)Triage experience requiredTrauma bay experience preferredEpic experience preferred (must specify if not experienced)No first-time travelers; must have 2–3 prior travel assignmentsMust be able to titrate critical gtts, procedural sedation for adults and pediatrics, manage blood products and rapid infusersSchedule & Orientation
Shifts : Mid Shifts – 1 : 00 PM–1 : 30 AM, 2 : 00 PM–2 : 30 AM, 4 : 00 PM–4 : 30 AM, 6 : 00 PM–6 : 30 AMInitial travelers fill schedule gaps; subsequent travelers provide availabilityTemplate allows ~5 days off every 3–4 weeksOrientation : 1–2 days with preceptor, including leader rounding, chart reviews, and feedbackWeekend & Holiday Requirements
Weekend : Every other week (EOW), may be adjusted with template schedulingHoliday : May be asked to participate in holiday rotationCall / Standby : May be requested; callback pay available (rate depends on contract)About Talent4Health
