Job Summary :
The Sr. Business Analyst will report into the VP of Business Process Optimization and will have responsibility for building the business analysis practice and playing a hands-on Business Analyst role on critical transformation projects. The Sr. Business Analyst will define the approach, process, tools and templates for business analysis (including process mapping, requirements elicitation and documentation, design sessions, other); will lead business requirements development on key projects and will coach and guide a small team of business analysts in the adoption and use of all practices.
Essential Job Functions :
- Lead the development and implementation of the business analysis practice – including business analysis processes, tools, templates, methods.
- Lead / facilitate work sessions with business stakeholders to define and document current and future state process maps.
- Lead / facilitate work sessions to elicit, elaborate on and document business and data requirements for new processes, tools and technology platforms.
- Document journey maps, personas, business requirements for projects and enhancements.
- Define and document work breakdown structure for business analysis and testing activities on projects.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of third party vendors and technologies to support business functions.
- Contribute to testing efforts associated with new processes, tools and technologies to ensure business requirements are met.
- Analyze and synthesize data, research and other information into presentations.
- Identify and document areas for continuous improvement and develop solutions involving process change, responsibility change, system change, data corrections activities etc.
- Collaborate with functional leads to implement changes, track results and be able to report out progress
- Facilitate communication and ensure alignment on goals across teams.
- Transform into Subject Matter expert for assigned functions / processes / new applications.
- Evaluates current training methods and materials for assigned group and recommends improvements. Reviews and creates training as needed.
- Performs profiling and analysis of data from source systems and helps map into destination systems.
- Supports quality assurance and control efforts using data analysis as part of pre- and post-implementation reviews for projects.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's Degree (accredited) required, with a preference in business.Experience : 5+ years of work experience with 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on technology and process improvement projects; 1+ years of coaching and guiding business analysts; 1+ years facilitating business requirements work sessions.Good knowledge of Business Analysis methods and practices; with direct experience developing and utilizing Business Analysis templates, and tools.Good knowledge of and experience with SDLC, Agile, Waterfall methods / frameworks.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to handle change, multitask and keep up with a fast pace and consistently growing environment.Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.Must have requirement gathering and documentation experienceExperience creating process flow diagrams during business discussions with proficiency in solutions like Visio a mustExperience in Finance, Sales and / or Customer Service domains preferred.Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word required.
