SUMMARY :

Join our team at Rochester Regional Health Dental Group as a Dental Hygiene Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in providing top-notch dental care to a diverse patient population. You'll be responsible for delivering comprehensive dental prophylaxis, taking necessary radiographs, and providing essential dental education to patients of all ages and backgrounds, including children, seniors, and those with special needs. Collaborating with our leadership team, you will help enhance our dental services and ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Cleans and sterilizes all dental instruments according to our Dental Policy and Procedure Manual.

Maintains efficient collaboration with the Hospital Sterilization department to ensure smooth instrument flow.

Reviews and confirms patients' medical histories, noting any changes for discussion with supervising dentists.

Keeps operatory equipment in optimal condition through regular cleaning, oiling, and maintenance.

Follows manufacturer recommendations for hand pieces, chairs, suction equipment, and radiographic tools, documenting maintenance as per department standards.

Engages in continuous professional development through educational programs and experiences.

Performs complete dental oral prophylaxis, including scaling, root planing, and polishing of teeth, along with applying topical treatments and sealants.

Documents all services rendered and necessary treatments in patients' records, including plans for the next appointment.

Communicates clearly and effectively with the practice coordinator regarding treatment provided and scheduling of future appointments.

Assists the Department Chief and General Practice Residency Director with the ongoing review of general practice residents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

A.A.S. Degree from an accredited Dental Hygiene Program.

Current License or Permit to practice Dental Hygiene in NYS.

EDUCATION :

AS : Dental Hygiene (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS :

DH - Licensed Dental Hygienist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

PAY RANGE : $33.00 - $43.00

This pay range reflects the base salary for a successful full-time candidate, with potential for future modification and additional pay components based on experience, qualifications, location, and equity.
