Responsibilities Work in an acute care ER Float Pool covering multiple locations within a 60-mile radius in Kansas Patient population includes a range of emergency presentations such as abdominal pain, DM, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 4-5 based on acuity 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required Travelers are expected to float to multiple ERs within Zone 4 (no home base facility assigned) EpicCare Inpatient EMR is used and experience is required Required to perform Point of Care lab testing as part of duties Charge nurse is present and may take patient assignments Unit is supported by techs who assist nurses and unit secretaries, as well as support in triage Functions as a core part of the ER team, providing care in variable environments due to float pool role Assignment locations and schedule are communicated before each start date Orientation includes 2-3 days of department-specific training and a total of 12 hours Navy blue scrubs are required as part of the dress code RT is available 24 / 7 and supports with ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs Holiday and weekend coverage are rotational and required Must be available in-state for the orientation week First-time travelers are eligible for this position Requirements Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required Required certifications : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, and NIHSS Ability to read and interpret telemetry without monitor tech assistance Experience with Epic EMR required Driver's license must be provided for eligibility Must reside within 60 miles of the assigned zone Two recent professional references required : one from a supervisor in the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Candidates must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facilities in the past year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-632020.
