Now hiring hosts at the Gristmill in the historic town of Gruene, TX! This is a great entry-level position into the restaurant industry with excellent pay potential; no experience is necessary. As a host, you will be the first impression of the restaurant and deliver exceptional customer service to our guests. Where you will work - The Gristmill

A one-of-a-kind, true Texas experience, the Gristmill River Restaurant was once home to a cotton gin (circa 1878) and has been considered one of the most iconic dining spots in Texas for nearly half a century.

Most all menu items are made from scratch daily, right down to the soups, sauces, and dressings. With several multi-level patios and 7 open-air dining rooms, the Gristmill is the quintessential spot for intimate dinners to large parties of special celebrations and everything in between.

What you will do

  • Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
  • Provide accurate wait times to guests and monitor waiting lists, providing updates as requested
  • Escort guests to assigned tables with light but friendly conversation to make guests feel comfortable and welcomed
  • Coordinate with other wait staff on available tables to ensure proper waiting times are accurate and current

    • What you bring - minimum qualifications

  • Must be 16 years old or older
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid and current Food Handlers certification
  • Must be able to work at least 3 days a week, including weekends and holidays

    • Physical requirements and working conditions

  • Must be able to stand and walk for 6 or more hours in a day
  • Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, squatting, climbing, and walking
  • Exposure to loud noise, large crowds, and extreme hot / cold temperatures
