Mercedes-Benz of Brooklyn is seeking a Shop Production Manager who will drive the overall efficiency, productivity, and growth of our technician team. This leader will serve as the bridge between management and the shop floor—supporting, training, and motivating technicians to achieve exceptional performance standards while maintaining the precision and discipline expected of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
Train & Develop Technicians
- Actively work alongside technicians—especially apprentices and developing talent—to improve diagnostic skill, efficiency, and repair accuracy.
- Provide real‑time guidance, feedback, and mentorship to help technicians grow into top‑tier performers.
- Partner with experienced technicians who aspire to advance further, focusing on refining technique, time management, and repair quality.
Daily Operational Discipline
Execute standardized daily reviews with consistency and accountability.Run RTT reports to analyze prior day punch times.Review Repair Orders (ROs) for accuracy, completeness, and production metrics.Identify lost time, workflow bottlenecks, or procedural deviations.Meet individually with technicians to discuss prior‑day performance and coach for improvement.Maintain meticulous documentation of productivity tracking, corrective actions, and technician progress.Workflow Management & Collaboration
Work closely with Dispatch to strategically assign jobs that balance efficiency, learning opportunities, and technician growth.Ensure that repair distribution supports both short‑term shop output and long‑term technician development.Coordinate with Service Advisors and Parts Department to maintain repair momentum and minimize downtime.Internal Process Optimization
Take ownership of the internal repair process—treating it as a core training platform for new and growing technicians.Audit and refine internal workflow to eliminate inefficiencies and reinforce consistent standards.Collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements and performance‑based metrics.Serve as the in‑house authority on complex diagnostic challenges, leading by example in precision troubleshooting.Provide support to technicians on difficult faults, ensuring accurate diagnosis and first‑time fixes.Maintain and share technical knowledge through ongoing Mercedes‑Benz training and certification.Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Master or Diagnostic Technician.Proven record of increasing shop efficiency and mentoring technicians.Exceptional diagnostic and analytical capabilities.Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.Highly organized and self‑disciplined with a commitment to daily process execution.Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume service environment.Ideal Candidate

The compensation includes a base salary and weekly production bonuses with annual compensation between $175k - $225k.
