The Challenge

In joining Adobe’s Worldwide Digital Media Finance organization, you will have the opportunity to serve as a Sr. Data Scientist embedded in our FP&A team within the largest business unit at Adobe. This role focuses on uncovering insights from bookings, billings, and revenue data to inform decision making and key financial metric forecasting. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills (SQL, Python, experience with big data projects on cloud-based data platforms) and a proven track record partnering with accounting, finance systems, FP&A, and related teams. You will partner with colleagues across local and remote teams in a matrixed organization.

  • Pull contract, customer, and event level data to surface relationships between bookings, billings, and revenue data. Develop and run a forecasting paradigm using these insights.
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, FP&A, and auxiliary teams to acquire project information and gain organization-wide support.
  • Present proposed methodologies and results to finance partners from analysts to SVP level.
  • Create or collaborate on dashboards surfacing the above insights.
  • Mentor junior data scientists / analysts.
  • Opportunity to expand to other areas upon successful completion of initial responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Deep experience applying big data and data science techniques to FP&A problems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to identify issues, scope, and implement solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to convey concepts clearly to partners and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional presentation skills; explain complex modelling to non-technical audiences and tailor messaging to the audience.
  • Enthusiasm for applying data science to FP&A problems and mentoring others.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts like ARR.
  • Intermediate / advanced Python programming skills.
  • Familiarity with data pipelining in a cloud framework (e.g., Databricks, GCP, Azure) preferred.
