Rodbuster Helper
The Rodbuster Helper will assist skilled craftsperson(s) by performing supportive duties as directed and will work under immediate supervision. Often performs runner functions within crew, and assists in the layout and measuring of materials for installation. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
Responsibilities :
Will assist the Rodbuster / Rodbuster Foreman with :
- Spacing and fastening together rods in forms according to blueprints using wire and pliers; positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables or mesh in concrete forms using fasteners and hand tools
- Placing blocks under rebar to hold the bards off the deck
- Bending steel rods with hand tools and rodbending machines
- Cutting and fitting wire mesh or fabric using hooked rods and positioning fabric or mesh in concrete to reinforce concrete
- Cutting rods to required lengths using metal shears, hacksaws or bar cutters
- Assist other craft workers as needed
Qualifications : Physical :
