Purpose of Position :
Sportsman’s Warehouse is growing the capacity our engineering team. The Senior Engineering Project Manager drives the successful delivery of complex, enterprise-level technology initiatives that enable Sportsman’s Warehouse to grow and innovate as an omni-channel retailer. This role ensures strategic projects—spanning commerce, backend, data, and infrastructure—are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals. By applying expertise in Agile and PMBOK methodologies, leading RFP processes, and managing third-party partnerships, this position serves as a critical connector between technology teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver transformative outcomes for customers and the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead planning, execution, and delivery of large, complex engineering projects across the enterprise.Apply Agile and Scrum methodologies while balancing PMBOK-based project governance for enterprise programs.Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, risk logs, and resource forecasts.Partner closely with engineering, product management, and business stakeholders to define requirements, priorities, and deliverables.Drive alignment across executive sponsors, business owners, and technical teams.Lead Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for new technology initiatives, including requirements gathering, vendor evaluations, scoring, and final selection.Build and manage relationships with third-party vendors, contractors, and system integrators, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and high-quality delivery.Negotiate and oversee contracts, statements of work (SOWs), and service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure project and business needs are met.Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and roadblocks.Champion transparent project governance, status reporting, and executive updates.Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and iterative delivery.Develop templates and standards for team documentation, promoting consistencyUnderstand cross-disciplinary dependencies, optimizing collaboration and problem-solving.Advocate for agile best practices. Guides agile projects across teams, improving efficiency and adapting practices to team needsDefines metrics and KPIs used to determine effectiveness and success of projectsQualifications : Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or relevant field (or equivalent years of experience).7+ years of project management experience in technology, with at least 3 years leading large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects.Demonstrated success managing full project lifecycle : initiation through delivery and adoption.Strong expertise in Agile and Scrum frameworks, with the ability to apply them effectively in engineering and enterprise environments.Working knowledge of PMBOK standards and ability to integrate best practices into hybrid methodologies.Strong vendor / partner management experience, including oversight of external technology service providers.Hands-on experience running RFP processes for technology vendors, platforms, or integrators.Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships.Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.Preferred
Experience with eCommerce, retail systems, or omni-channel technology (POS, ERP, order management, inventory, or customer experience platforms).PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe, or other relevant certifications.Experience working with enterprise platforms such as SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), Oracle, or Snowflake.Familiarity with digital transformation, ERP, cloud migrations, enterprise integrations, and big data initiatives.Supervisory Responsibilities :
