Job Description :
The goal of this team is to reduce and minimize damage and its impact on Data Center hardware. This includes inspection, testing, and repair of critical components to ensure reliable and well-maintained Data Center hardware.
Responsibilities :
- This role is focused on quality assurance, primarily monitoring and reducing damage to data center hardware parts.
- Assist site leadership in efforts to reduce damage at each data center, including spot checks of process staging areas for proper handling, packaging, and storage of parts.
- Execute damaged parts process at the data center, ensuring damaged parts are verified, quarantined, and not mixed with good products.
- Identify and escalate issues affecting part damage.
- Support key field campaigns and failure investigations.
- Perform special damage inspections and repairs of critical parts.
- Conduct printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) quick testing for re-inventory, approximately 100 boards per week.
- Verify reported damaged parts to ensure accuracy, inspecting up to 100 parts weekly.
- Repair damaged parts, including cleaning thermal paste, straightening bent connectors, and replacing missing parts such as CPU carrier frames and dust covers.
- Periodically audit handling, ESD processes, and packing procedures at various touchpoints in each data center.
Experience :
Experience in damage quality inspection on data hardware equipment.Experience performing special damage inspections and repairs on critical data center hardware.Minimum of 3 years' experience in a technical field.General knowledge of electronic parts and components used in data center hardware (e.g., motherboards, DIMMs, hard drives, network cards, optics).Ability to perform 1st level failure analysis on electronic parts.Familiarity with mechanical defects in electronic components and hardware.Capacity to sit for extended periods performing detailed inspections.Experience using inspection equipment such as stereo microscopes and ring lights.Proficiency in using a PC to record and report data.Ability to write process instructions and SOPs.Strong interpersonal skills to work with and influence others.Physical strength to handle medium to heavy materials, including lifting, pushing, and pulling.Skills :
Damage inspection quality control.Knowledge of data center equipment.Background in troubleshooting and repairing server, storage, and networking products.Education :
