Job descriptionApplicants must have an MD or DO degree (or equivalent). Position requires completion and an ACGME-accredited training program. Applicants must be board eligible, or board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Board of Pediatrics; or be dual board certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics at the time of hire. The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Iowa medical license. Prior academic experience in Emergency Medicine training programs. Prior teaching experience in the medical sciences, post graduate level. Prior research experience / scholarship in Emergency Medicine or the health sciences. Demonstrated experience providing patient focused care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills and a strong commitment to academic medicine. Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
