Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Perfusion Coordinator leads and manages the Cardiovascular Perfusion Service, ensuring quality and efficiency. This role reports to the Vice President of Surgical Services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Direction & Policy: Setting the department's vision, developing policies, and ensuring clear communication.
• Planning & Scheduling: Implementing perfusion scheduling and defining staff qualifications.
• Budget & Strategy: Recommending the annual budget and integrating perfusion services into hospital-wide strategic plans.
• ECMO Support: Assisting with the ECMO program's planning, staffing, and quality.
• Standards & Procedures: Ensuring compliance with industry standards (AmSECT) and creating departmental policies.
• Resource Management: Managing equipment and supply inventories for patient, perfusion, and physician needs.

This role oversees all aspects of the perfusion service, ensuring its smooth operation and alignment with hospital goals.

Job Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved perfusion program.

Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. BLS. Licensed Perfusionist in the State of TN.
