Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Property Accounting Manager to join our team. This individual will play a key role in the month-end close process, financial reporting, and team management for a portfolio of multifamily properties. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Property Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting and reporting functions for 15-18 properties, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the month-end close process for a portfolio of multifamily properties, typically spanning a 10-business-day period.
Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial schedules, ensuring accuracy in the tracking and reporting of large balance sheet items.
Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 direct reports at the staff and senior accountant levels.
Work closely with other members of the accounting and finance teams to enhance processes, streamline reporting, and ensure accurate data across all financial statements.
Work with other accounting managers, Controller, and leaders in other Company departments to identify areas for improvement in month-end close and deliverables to our operating partners
