Temporary Laborer
Under supervision, performs a wide variety of unskilled and semiskilled basic labor duties in the construction, repair, inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of District facilities; operates a variety of tools, vehicles, and construction equipment. Approximately November-February. $2,500.00 Bonus Program.

The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and / or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties. Knowledge of : Basic methods, tools, techniques and materials used in the construction, maintenance, repair, inspection and cleaning of water treatment, water conveyance, irrigation, and drainage facilities. Safe and effective operation and use of a variety of vehicles and light mechanical equipment and various tools and equipment employed in repair and maintenance. Specialized power-driven pipeline inspection, maintenance, and repair equipment. Safety precautions and practices necessary in working with hand tools and mechanical equipment. Ability to : Perform a variety of basic labor, unskilled and semiskilled work in construction, repair, inspection, cleaning and maintenance of canals, ditches, pipelines, pumps, structures, and confined spaces, tanks, towers, and related facilities.
Perform heavy manual labor. Safely and efficiently operate a variety of vehicles, light mechanical equipment, and hand and power tools. Operate construction and specialized equipment and perform basic tasks. Follow written and oral instructions. Read and write at the level required for successful job performance Work unusual shifts, weekends, evenings, holidays and on standby status when required. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Physical : Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and / or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to climb or work on ladders, stairs, ramps, canals, ditches, fields, tanks, and towers; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Vision : See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hearing : Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Temporary Worker Bonus Program 2025 / 26 Maximum Achievable Bonus is $2,500.00. First payout on (TBD) payroll= $1,000. Second payout at the end of the project=$1,500. Bonus Eligibility Criteria : Must be actively employed at the time of the payout(s). No prorated bonus for terminated employees. No missed workdays during payout periods. No at fault injuries / accidents. Prorated bonus available only to employees active for entire payout period based upon actual days scheduled.
