SALARY : $54,180 - $59,736 (dependent upon certification level) / Comprehensive benefits package

DESCRIPTION OF WORK : The Department of Inspections / Planning has an opportunity for a qualified individual with strong communication skills and the ability to deal tactfully with customers and the general public. Applicants should possess a working knowledge of sound construction practices and related building codes, laws and ordinances to perform technical work inspecting residential and commercial buildings for compliance. Qualified candidates will possess a Standard Level I, II or III Certificate and considerable experience in HVAC, plumbing, building, and electrical trades and a valid NC Driver License. Demonstrated initiative with limited supervision are key components of this position.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or equivalent with moderate experience in construction and possession of Level I Building, Electrical, Mechanical and / or Plumbing certifications are requirements for consideration.
