Were looking for a Workplace Operations Manager II (Facilities / Engineering) in Boston to oversee essential building systems, own preventive maintenance and capital projects, and deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective operationswith genuine autonomy, visibility, and the chance to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, controls) to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
• Maintain and optimize preventive maintenance strategies in the CMMS; create PMs, ensure data integrity, and drive PM compliance.
• Support capital and lifecycle projects : define scope, prepare cost and schedule estimates, select and manage vendors, and deliver to budget and schedule.
• Manage contractors and in-house technicians : set SLAs, negotiate contracts, approve invoices, conduct performance reviews, and enforce safety requirements.
• Ensure regulatory and code compliance (NFPA, NEC, OSHA, ADA, environmental); coordinate inspections and permits.
• Drive energy and sustainability initiatives
• Create, manage, and adhere to operating and project budgets; track expense management and vendor spend.
• Deliver recurring metrics and reports on department KPIs and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Serve as primary point of contact for facilities-related incidents and coordinate timely resolution for building occupants.
• Maintain accurate documentation (as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, vendor contracts).

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
