Operate and oversee signals equipment used in signals intelligence operations.
Learn the intelligence skills needed to conduct military briefings and inform authorities when necessary.
This role is critical as the nation's defense largely depends on information obtained from foreign languages.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Age 17-34.
High school diploma or GED required.
Meet tattoo guidelines.
No major law violations.
No medical concerns.
Training & Certifications
42 nationally recognized certifications available.
10 weeks of basic training.
5-20 weeks of advanced individual training.
85+ on the Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) for active duty only.
101 ASVAB score : Skilled Technical can bypass DLAB with an ST score of 129+.
36-64 weeks of education at the Defense Foreign Language Institute if not fluent in a foreign language.
