YOUR MISSION
True Anomaly is seeking an innovative Electrical Power Systems Engineering Manager to lead a small, agile team responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of spacecraft power subsystems, including power generation, energy storage, and power distribution. This role requires a mix of technical depth in spacecraft power systems, program execution, and team leadership. Reporting to the Director of Avionics, this role will encompass technical contribution and people management. The successful candidate will be an expert in EPS development, incorporating practical experience, best practices, and balanced technical judgement. You will work closely with True Anomaly's Avionics, Systems, Software, and Test teams to develop a comprehensive solution for spacecraft operation. As manager, you will be responsible for growing and advocating for your team, developing and maintaining schedules and budgets, leading technical trades, and ensuring on-time delivery of your product.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own technical direction for power architecture : solar arrays, batteries, distribution, and protection systemsLead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers developing spacecraft electrical power subsystemsOversee end-to-end EPS lifecycle : requirements definition, design, analysis, budgets, trade studies, hardware procurement, integration, and testEnsure spacecraft EPS meets mission reliability, efficiency, thermal, and radiation tolerance requirementsManage schedules, budgets, staffing, and risk for the EPS scope across multiple spacecraft programsCollaborate with systems engineering, avionics, propulsion, and mission assurance teams to ensure seamless spacecraft integrationDrive compliance with aerospace standards and participate in design reviews with customers and internal stakeholdersCommunicate product development status and issues with leadership and stakeholdersQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)8+ years of professional experience with spacecraft or high-reliability electrical power systems designStrong technical background in solar arrays, battery technologies (Li-ion, LiFePO4), charge control, DC / DC converters, peak power tracking and power distributionExperience with spacecraft power modeling, analysis, and fault managementDemonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and deliver complex hardware on scheduleUnderstanding of radiation effects on power systems and mitigation techniquesPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with analog and digital electrical design practicesFamiliarity with lab test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, electrical loads, solar array simulators)Experience designing, analyzing, and testing for EMI / EMC effectsExperience integrating and debugging system level interactions in a HIL / SIL environmentKnowledge and experience with power supply stability and analysisCOMPENSATION
