Job Posting : Village Clerk / Treasurer
The Village of Wilton is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and community-minded individual to serve as Clerk / Treasurer . This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of village administration and financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain official village records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Prepare agendas and provide administrative support for Village Board meetings
- Manage village finances, including budgeting, payroll, accounts payable / receivable, and financial reporting
- Oversee licensing, permits, and elections in compliance with state and local regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and elected officials
Qualifications
Strong organizational and communication skillsProficiency with accounting practices and office software (knowledge of Workhorse Software a plus, but not required)Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple prioritiesKnowledge of municipal government operations preferred (training available for the right candidate)Prior experience in bookkeeping, finance, or public administration is a plusPosition DetailsFull Time (will require some evening hours)Compensation : Wage will be determined by experience of candidate & discussed at time of interviewBenefits : Health, Dental, Vision Insurance & RetirementBackground checks on candidates are required for positionHow to Apply
