ABOUT HOLLAND

At Holland, we're about more than just construction, we're about building relationships. We were founded on the idea that integrity is the gateway to success and our team is pivotal to maintaining those values. While working at Holland, you will be surrounded by a group of individuals, all working towards the same goal, while pushing you to grow and be the best version of yourself. Since 1986, Holland has continued to promote from within. We take pride in growing our talent and will look for this position to help promote that same culture.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Holland Construction Services is seeking a dynamic Director of Health, Safety & Change Management to lead our safety strategy across all projects. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with company, owner, and government regulations, while also championing a transformation in how our teams think about and approach safety. The ideal candidate will combine deep construction safety expertise with proven experience in change management, driving a culture where safety is a shared value, not just a requirement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the company-wide safety program, ensuring compliance across diverse construction projects.
  • Lead cultural change initiatives to embed safety as a core organizational value, using change management best practices.
  • Provide direction, education, and oversight to project teams for all safety activities.
  • Conduct accident investigations, root cause analyses, and manage general liability losses.
  • Serve as a leader and resource for safety committees, both internally and within the broader industry.
  • Oversee OSHA investigations, litigation, and compliance inspections for various construction types (wood frame, tilt slab, steel, brick & block, roadwork).
  • Organize and lead 'stand down' safety meetings and on-site safety trainings.
  • Facilitate jobsite team meetings, focusing on subcontractor safety compliance and proactive risk identification.
  • Deliver company safety training and keep site superintendents updated on new regulations.
  • Collaborate with pre-construction teams to identify and address future jobsite safety issues.
  • Provide management with clear, actionable reporting on safety issues, trends, and insurance needs.
  • Manage insurance claims and work closely with insurers before and after incidents.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT FOCUS

  • Design and implement strategies to shift mindsets and behaviors around safety at all levels of the organization.
  • Act as a change agent, engaging employees, subcontractors, and leadership in the journey toward a proactive, people-centered safety culture.
  • Measure and report on progress toward cultural change goals.
  • WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health (ABET accredited) or related field required; advanced degree or certification in Change Management strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in construction safety, with a demonstrated track record of leading cultural or organizational change.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • WHY JOIN US?

  • Be a key leader in building an industry-leading safety culture.
  • Drive meaningful change that impacts every employee and project.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.
